One needs only to visit Cambridge Environmental Technologies to understand why we exist and why our people are so passionate about what they do.
Located in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, this U.S. manufacturing company’s own backyard serves as a daily reminder of the importance of making both personal and organizational choices that help to protect and preserve our invaluable natural resources.
Here, eagles soar past our windows, waterfowl of numerous species congregate in the fields surrounding our facility, and our rivers and other nearby bodies of water teem with fish and crab. Surrounding wetlands are cloaked in equally diverse flora and fauna.
Also, major industries within our community and throughout the Eastern Shore of Maryland are economically dependent upon the continued well-being of our environment. These industries include fishing, crabbing, seafood processing, farming and tourism, to name a few.
In short, the environment could not be any closer to us, or more personal.
Walking the Walk at Cambridge
Cambridge Environmental Technologies is a multidisciplinary industrial design and engineering team committed to developing superior solutions to our most critical environmental challenges including:
Our commitment to solving these challenges extends to everything we do both as a company and personally.
Cambridge International has undergone an exhaustive, state-sponsored energy analysis and has incorporated recommendations into a recent company-wide renovation. Significant upgrades were made to electrical systems, further improving the company’s energy efficiency. Facilities have received a new high-efficiency HVAC system, and lighting systems have been upgraded with energy-efficient fixtures and lamps.
Our people are also highly encouraged to make better personal environmental decisions in life. Some of the practices include:
Carpooling – HR manages a matching service to facilitate company-wide carpooling.
Bicycling – Cambridge provides bikes for both plant-to-plant and local transportation.
Recycling – Repositories are abundant and conveniently located throughout the entirety of our physical plant for the recycling of metals, plastics, and paper. Also, manufacturing departments recycle all materials possible and manage recycling programs for each product line, with aggressive recycling targets.
Paper Conservation – Electronic documents are encouraged, two-sided printing is required and scrap paper must always be recycled.
Local Sourcing – Done whenever possible to minimize energy expenditures on transportation and to support the viability of local business.
Energy Monitoring and Accountability – All functional areas of the physical plant are monitored for daily ventilation and electrical energy consumption.
Suggestion Program – Cambridge encourages employees to suggest ways to improve upon our sustainable practices.
Web-based Meetings – Encouraged and preferred when possible to minimize energy consumption for air or auto transportation.
Travel – Employees who must travel are educated in sustainable travel decisions.
